Detailed Itinerary

Morning: The Ancient Capital & Mua Cave Hike

• 7:30 AM – 8:00 AM: The tour bus and guide will pick you up from your hotel in the Hanoi Old Quarter area. The journey to Ninh Binh takes approximately 2 – 2.5 hours.
• 10:00 AM: Arrive at Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam in the 10th and 11th centuries. You will visit the Dinh King and Le King temples, learning about the history of the Dinh and Le dynasties and their significance in Vietnamese history.

• 11:00 AM: The bus proceeds to Mua Cave (Dancing Cave). This is the most physically demanding part of the tour. You will climb nearly 500 steps to the summit of the mountain. The effort is well worth it, as you are rewarded with a 360-degree panoramic view of the stunning rice fields, limestone karsts, and the Tam Coc and Trang An landscapes below.

• 12:30 PM: Enjoy a traditional Vietnamese buffet lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon: Trang An Boat Tour

• 1:30 PM: After lunch, you will be taken to the Trang An Grottoes. You will board a small sampan boat, rowed by a local guide. The boat trip lasts around 2 – 2.5 hours and takes you through a series of stunning caves, limestone cliffs, and tranquil waterways. This is a very relaxing and picturesque part of the tour.
• 4:00 PM: Get back on the bus to head back to Hanoi. There is usually a short break for a rest stop along the way.
• 6:30 PM – 7:00 PM: Arrive back in the Hanoi Old Quarter, where the tour ends.
