Our 13-day expedition felt like a true soul cleansing experience. Coming from Norway, with our deep affection for untamed nature, we found a surprisingly wonderful kinship in Northern Vietnam. The sheer majesty of the limestone Karst peaks and the quietude of the rice valleys offered a profound stillness, allowing us to truly disconnect from our fast-paced lives.
What made the trip special was not just the landscape—though kayaking through the narrow lakes of Ha Long Bay was truly ethereal—but the gentle, everyday moments with the local people. We cherished every morning waking up in the wooden stilt house, smelling the wood smoke, and hearing the roosters. The unassuming hospitality of the villagers was the most precious gift.
